The Opportunity
Proventus is seeking to collaborate with an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer for a part-time, short-term engagement supporting Defence-related work.
This role requires an individual with active NV1 security clearance, strong systems engineering expertise, and proven experience in the development of security documentation for Defence environments.
The role is suited to a professional based in Melbourne or Canberra who can contribute practical, structured support across cyber security engineering and assurance activities.
What Youโll Do
Develop and contribute to security documentation aligned to Defence requirements
Support cyber security engineering activities across complex systems environments
Work with technical and program stakeholders to ensure security requirements are captured and addressed
Apply systems engineering principles to support secure solution design and delivery
Assist with assurance, compliance, and documentation activities across Defence-related programs
Collaborate with client and delivery teams to support short-term project outcomes
What Weโre Looking For
We are interested in professionals who bring:
Active NV1 security clearance
5+ years of experience in cyber security engineering or related roles
Proven experience developing security documentation for Defence environments
Strong systems engineering expertise in complex or regulated programs
Experience working within Defence, Defence industry, or other high-assurance government environments
Ability to engage effectively with technical teams, program stakeholders, and delivery leadership
Strong written communication and documentation capability
Based in Melbourne or Canberra
